Action of The Day #4: Be Prepared To Be A Lifeline

Read through Signs Of Human Trafficking
Take the time to familiarize yourself with the signs of possible human trafficking so that you can be alert to red flags that might indicate a human trafficking situation.
If you work in health or social services or law enforcement, read and download indicators of human trafficking specific to your field, and other job related resources, provided by U.S. Health and Human Services.
If you are in education, assessment tools and resources are available through the U.S. Dept. of education and other sources here.

Action Item of the Day #2

Do you work with immigrant, child, social, or community services, or health care, education, youth services? We need personnel in all these fields to be trained and aware of signs of a victim in their midst. Help
get yourself and your agency equipped with training.

Action Of The Day #1

There are MANY ways to get involved locally. We will be sharing action items from our Go Forward Resource+action Booklet each day.

Mentor a human trafficking survivor.
After someone is rescued, one of the key needs is a support system and someone to walk with them as they start their new life with new hope! We have many organizations that are working to have be part of that support system, but as we all know, friendship is absolutely necessary and healthy, mentoring relationships are vital. This is a GREAT NEED.
Contact Faith.Hope.Love at info@fhl-ministries.com if you are interested in being a mentor.

Spread the Word About Freedom Week

Freedom Week is an incredible opportunity for the community to learn about human trafficking, be equipped, and respond.
We get to come together and be a voice to the voiceless and the hands and feet that serve them.
However, it’s a big job getting the word out in our communities and we need you help to tell people and encourage them to participate.
So how can you do that? Here are several ways:

Help give out flyers and posters
You can download the flyers from the website and print them. We will also have professional flyers and posters available after Jan. 16 at the Fresno First Baptist Church office, 1400 Saginaw Ave., Fresno from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Mon.-Fri. Contact us if you would like flyers taken to your church or if you live closer to the Dinuba area.
-Join others in hanging flyers in the two mile area around your home and at the places you frequent (groceries stores, Starbucks, etc.). Together, we’ll bring awareness to our communities.
-Help us to hang posters at schools, church campuses, and public places (with permission, of course)
-Take flyers to give out to those you know or drop off at locations in your community (with permission)
-Have flyers available at your church or other group meetings.

On our website
-Download the Freedom Week poster/flyer and share via internet or print out and use to promote.
-Download and give the Church Leaders’ invitational letter to church leaders you know with The Church Action List.
-Follow our Freedom Week blogsite. Share our blogsite through email and on your social media sites. Share posts.

On Facebook
-“Like” our Freedom Week page on Facebook. Click on “Invite Friends” and recommend our page to others. Share posts you enjoy.
-Share and invite people to our event pages on facebook, which are being posted on the Freedom Week page and our group page.
-Post the link to the Freedom Week website and the Freedom Week page every day to encourage people to take part.
-Change you profile picture to the flyer image

On other Social Media sites
-Follow Freedom Week on Twitter, #FreedomWeek2012 and retweet posts.
-Information and resources are also posted on Central Valley Justice Coalition‘s media sites.

AND one of the most important ways to get the word out and to talk to people you know and share why you are taking part in Freedom Week.
